Amanda's Pool Haircare
Before you jump into a chlorine pool this summer, wet your hair first. Colored-treated hair reacts well when rinsed with regular tap water first, but be sure to saturate it. Since your hair will already be saturated by tap water, this easy step aids in keeping chlorine from getting into your hair. When you get out of the pool, just rinse your hair again and wash with shampoo and conditioner as soon as possible. One other tip: Buy shampoo and conditioners for your hair type and ones with UV sun protection. Your hair will thank you for it.
Iris: Preparing Your Younger Look
Hydration is imperative for our skin both inside and out, and Hyaluronic acid moisturizers have made a major comeback! They are excellent for all skin types for ages 30 and up. Hyaluronic acid also pulls moisture from the air, so only a small quantity is required each time. As you enter your anti-aging journey, hyaluronic acid is a true drink of water for your skin.
Amanda: Hair Loss and your Hair Line
To help hair growth, try parting it on the other side to stimulate growth in the other direction. I recommend daily use of biotin vitamins and using a few Nioxin drops at the front of your part and hairline anytime you shampoo.
Avoid twisting your hair up in a towel when you get out of the shower. This causes your hair to break and will pull it out where it is most sensitive at your forehead hairline. It does not grow back easily. To prevent hair loss at the forehead hairline, use a towel to squeeze the water out. Then, gently brush your hair with a wet-brush or wide-tooth comb. These tools are designed for wet hair de-tangling and work great. Do not use a regular hairbrush; it will break your hair.
Iris Says "Blur Those Lines"
Blurred lines silicone-based primers are ideal in producing the illusion of smoother skin. Applying this primer to your face before foundation and powder is key. Not only will your foundation last longer, this product will have blurred the skin in concealing any fine lines you may be concerned about. It’s like real life Photoshop for your face, providing a more youthful beauty appearance. There are blurred line silicone-based primers out there with SPF, so remember to read the labels.
