JUN 3  Barry Stewart Mann presents Tail Waggin’ Tales

10:30 am – Casino Atrium outside of the St. Simons Island Library: Join Barry for retellings of a varied sampling of wonderful Tales about Tails from popular children’s literature. The program includes songs, poems, and stories from authors including Eric Carle and A. A. Milne, with tails from all kinds of critters – from opossums to dragons and crickets to whales. There’ll be colorful costumes, props, and puppets, and wonderful opportunities for audience participation. It’ll be so much fun you’ll just wish you had a tail to wag! Free and open to the public

JUN 4  Taste of Gullah

5-7 pm – Historic Harrington School Cultural Center, 291 South Harrington Road, St. Simons Island: The St. Simons African American Heritage Coalition is proud to re-open the Historic Harrington School and host the annual Taste of Gullah. Please come and sample authentic and modern Gullah food, tour the Historic Harrington School, and enjoy live entertainment and a book talk/signing of Gullah-Geechee Heritage in the Golden Isles with authors Amy Lotson Roberts and Patrick J. 6-9 pm – Village Creek Landing on St. Simons Island: Join Communities in Schools of Glynn for our annual benefit party! JUN 17-20  Penguin Project Presents Bye Bye Birdie

Bye Bye Birdie Young Performers Edition – 7 pm Thursday through Saturday and 3 pm Sunday – The Historic Ritz Theatre, Downtown Brunswick:  A musical theatre production that casts children and young adults with disabilities in all roles, 33 Artists ages 10 and up take on all the roles and are supported on stage by Mentors, young people without disabilities, who assist them as needed and participate in the performance.  This is the fourth production for the Golden Isles Penguin Project and previous shows have been sold-out so audiences are encouraged to get their tickets soon. 5-9 pm Gascoigne Bluff Park, St. Simons Island: Join the Brunswick Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce for an evening of fun with mouthwatering bites from some of the Golden Isles’ best restaurants, live and silent auctions, irresistible raffles, a wine grab, and live music! This year we are combining our two largest events, Chamber Experience and Business and Bites, to bring you this highly anticipated community event.
